Lord VARDARAJA SWAMY smeared with TURMERIC, the concept is called MANJAKAP (smeared with Turmeric). An ancient Aurvedic process of bathing the god's idol with Turmeric which acts ae an disinfectant or germicide.

VARADARAJA SWAMI IDOL IN THONDAVADI
The idol is in the form of typical HINDU god found most commonly across South India. The idol is sculptured using a special stone called sand stone. The idol is backed by a structure called "PRABHAVALE" more commonly called as "FRAME". It is one of the most important structure in any idol according to "SHILPA SHASTRA"(book of sculptures). The idol is surrounded by two weapon like looking structures called "SHANKA" and"CHAKRA", this is a most plebeian way to depict any form of NARAYANA idols. According to philosophy SHREE VAISHNAVA idols are more often identified by three forms of symbols; "SHANKA","CHAKRA" AND "NAMA". The idol also has "LAKSHMI" (wife of Shreeman NARAYANA) on the either side with a firm basement on which the whole structure stalls. According to history books, One special feature of this idol is the piquant nose ring inspite of the god being masculine in gender.

An Ancient authentic Hindu process (SHREE VAISHNAVA) called as 'PURUSHASUUKTHI' which acts as a preamble or a introductory process followed by THIRUMANJANA or simply called as ABHISHEKA (Bathing the god's idol with atleast  21 types of different  water mixed forms).

It is believed from past that the almighty himself goes round the village or town to gauge the eudaimonia of the people, the belief was later conceptualized by introducing "UTSAVA MURTHY" or MOBILE god which is carried by people on their shoulders as a mark of respect similar to the concept of "DHOLI". The MOBILE god is taken all round the village or city, as the MOOLURU (main established god) cannot be carried all over.

The Front view of the temple is gaurded by a deamon, which is believed to be a protector of all the black magic and other bad omens.
The temple is further covered by "GARUDAKAMBA" or PILLAR of STONE which is named after GARUDA or VAINATHEYA who is believed to be the official carrier or LORD NARAYANA and his forms. According to philosophy the GARUDA is believed to be always parked outside the emple which is inturn symbolized by "GARUDAKAMBA" or "VEHICLE OF THE LORD"
